QubeDot completes the EIC journey

Our iSMILE project – integrated scalable microLED engines – marks a historic milestone: it is the first-ever EIC-funded project that completes the full EIC journey, receiving both EIC Pathfinder and EIC Transition funding and has now been selected for the EIC Accelerator.

The project builds on the success of the ChipScope and SMILE project.

The success story of QubeDot would not have been possible without the EIC and our esteemed partners: Universitat de Barcelona, Technische Universität Braunschweig, and Università di Roma Tor Vergata.

We are deeply grateful for the support and are excited to discover what the future holds.

Jan Gülink is Speaker at TechBlick Event

Join the virtual TechBlick’s Event “Mini- & Micro-LED Displays: Markets, Manufacturing Innovations, Applications, Promising Start-ups” from November 29 and 30. This second edition of TechBlick’s events is dedicated to mini and microLED technologies.

Our CTO, Jan Gülink, will present the enormous potential of our SMILE platform, which enables versatile display solutions. The role of InGaN microLEDs as the material and device choice for next-generation displays is becoming increasingly clear. QubeDot’s SMILE platform enables the fabrication of diverse displays in a variety of sizes and application areas. SMILE is an acronym for “Structured Micro Illumination Light Engine” and covers our microLED display and array product range with different pixel counts and sizes, wavelengths, and intensities. Multiple light engines are available with corresponding control circuitry and software, enabling direct patterning for display and illumination applications. Highly efficient microLED pixels and their mass transfer are key elements of SMILE Technology. Following up on these key elements, the talk will focus on how SMILE Technology aims to be the enabler for real production versatility in the display industry.
